Scholarships
The Bolingbrook Lions Club is making available $2,000 in scholarships (4x $500 scholarships) to worthy High School Seniors and other adults who will be continuing their education toward a degree in a field of Human Services. To qualify for consideration for one of the scholarships the applicant must be a resident of Bolingbrook, Illinois. The criteria for awarding these scholarships will include: A suitable field of study, demonstration of commitment to helping others, eligibility or enrollment at an institution of higher learning offering the appropriate area of study, and financial need. Potential fields of study that allow the student to qualify for these scholarships can be (but are not limited to): Teaching of the visual or hearing impaired, Special Education, Mobility and Orientation, Vision Therapy, Hearing Therapy, Physical Therapy, Visual Science, Optometry, Ophthalmology, Nursing or Medicine – with specialty in Vision or Hearing. ILLINOIS LIONS DISTRICT 1-B SCHOLARSHIPS
In addition to the scholarships being offered by the Bolingbrook Lions Club there are additional scholarships available through Lions of Illinois District 1-B. However these scholarships are more restrictive in requirements. They are available ONLY to students pursuing a Teaching Degree in Special Education. The scholarships are generally $500 in amount and are renewed annually for four years as long as the applicant continues to meet the requirements.The Bolingbrook Lions Club can only submit applications for students who reside in Bolingbrook. Those that qualify for this scholarship should print the application and submit their completed application to the Bolingbrook Lions Club, Attention Scholarship Committee, at the address below.
